About Us

The Film & Art Institute is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization committed to the education of youth in the field of multi-media. Many of the children in our communities have incredible talent but due to a lack of resources and the high fees that come with multi-media education, far too often than not, they are not able to discover and develop their potential. Our goal is to educate children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to receive such training.

Knowledge should be shared among those who are willing to learn and no one should be deprived of it. Young people are the future of the world and with the right education and guidance, they can make a great contribution to society and create the possibility for a brighter future. For that reason, we are reaching out to the community and bringing our resources to them. We will bring our team of instructors and equipment to the inner-city to offer quality courses with industry standard technology as a community service to at-risk youth that do not have the chance to realize their “dream” of one day working in the art and entertainment industry.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to guide the youth of today to contribute to society through the proper use of media. To accomplish this mission we have the following four objectives.

Objectives

Responsibility
Our first objective is to educate young people about the power of the media and the responsibility that goes with it. Media are accessible to just about anyone and has an impact on the world that we live in. Young people are influenced by the media and need to understand the amazing benefits that are possible when used properly.

Taking a stand
Our second objective is to encourage young people to take a stand by creating film and art that can solve problems from the individual to societal level. The media should not only be used for individual entertainment or recreation, but also to help others in need. By advocating the proper use of media to promote goodness we can make a difference in the lives of our young people and the world we live in.

Contribution
Our third objective is to teach young people how to use industry standard multimedia technology from film production to computer animation. There are incredible possibilities in multimedia and by teaching them state-of-the-art techniques, they can use their talents and abilities to express themselves and contribute for the sake of the whole.

Achieving tangible results
Our fourth objective is to guide young people on how to use their creative abilities to produce tangible results. Having acquired the basic understanding of the responsible use of media, we will show them how they can use their creativity and newly learned skills in the community to empower themselves and others with a clear purpose and vision for the future.
